Project Description: The Additional Digester Facilities Upgrades Project (Project) would replace existing digesters at the San José-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (Facility) and improve the overall efficiency and sustainability of the Facility. The Project includes: demolition of several existing structures; construction of six new digesters and associated infrastructure; construction of a new Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) receiving facility and associated infrastructure; and general site improvements such as rock landscaping, paving and grading, signage, street lighting, and exterior and interior lighting.
Location: The Project is located in northern Santa Clara County, within the Facility at 700 Los Esteros Road in the City of San José. The Project site is bound by Los Esteros Road to the north/west and Zanker Road to the east, and is located within the Facility’s operational area.
