The Planning, Building and Code Enforcement Department is offering a new way for the community to get personalized guidance on their small building projects.
Pop-Up Permits offers a convenient way to get personalized guidance from a City building inspector or permit specialist and makes it faster and easier for residents and contractors to get started on small residential projects that require a building permit.
Participants can:
- Talk to an expert about what you need for your next home project.
- Start a permit application or get an online permit.
- Have a City Building Inspector provide feedback on your plans.
- Thinking about an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU)? Talk to a City Planner or our ADU Ally.
For fastest service, come prepared with questions, plans and submittal forms. If projects qualify for Over-the-Counter Service, upload your complete submittal package prior to the pop-up and your permit could be issued at the event.
The event series is held in different neighborhoods across San José. For more information, visit www.bit.ly/SJpopuppermits.
