Background:
San José Clean Energy (SJCE) and Christmas in the Park will unveil a first-of-its-kind holiday experience, an electrified Santa’s House and Santa’s first-ever electric sleigh, powered by renewable electricity. Families visiting downtown San José will see an all-electric fireplace, energy-efficient lighting, and fun, interactive displays showcasing the home upgrades Santa made this year—including a solar-battery-powered home and an electric vehicle (EV) sleigh.
As kids and families wait to take photos with Santa, they will be able to explore educational signage and real-life electric appliances that highlight how switching from gas to electric can lower energy costs, improve indoor air quality, and make homes healthier.
This new experience brings clean energy education to one of San José’s most beloved traditions. SJCE has proudly sponsored Christmas in the Park since 2022 and is also the Welcome Sponsor of Blinky’s Electric Drive-Thru at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds—a dazzling, all-electric light show featuring more than a million LED lights synchronized to holiday music.
