The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services’ Vietnamese-American Cultural Center (VACC) welcomed community leaders and families on Feb. 2 to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Over 100 attendees, dressed in Vietnamese garments known as áo dài, enjoyed cultural folk dances, a lion dance performance and traditional red envelopes. The VACC is a resource to San José’s Vietnamese-speaking community, the largest outside of Vietnam. The Center offers health and wellness programs for seniors, preschool programs, hosts cultural events and more.
