Join Us for Bike to Work Day on May 14

Post Date:05/01/2026 5:00 PM

Bike to Work Day, also known as Bike to Wherever Days, is an annual event that sees hundreds of “Energizer Stations” set up for bicyclists throughout the Bay Area. These rest stops have free snacks, bicycling information, and tote bags full of free goodies. Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC) organizes the event each year throughout Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.

The City of San José, in partnership with SVBC, traditionally hosts an Energizer Station outside Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library. We'll be doing the same this year from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 14 at the southeast corner of Fourth and San Fernando streets. Each year, we encourage folks to pledge with SVBC on Eventbrite to bike during the month of May. If you pledge ahead of time, show your confirmation at our shared Energizer Station and receive a free tote bag (while supplies last). But if you can’t register early, you can pledge on the spot.

Swing by to say hi! Grab some goodies to celebrate your commitment to clean, green, car-free travel. Free basic bike adjustments will be provided by Bicycle Express.

We hope to see you at our Energizer Station! And don’t forget that the entire month of May is Bike Month.
