Gaiascope is a celebration of SJ26 major sporting events including World Cup 2026. It adds a transformational quality to the downtown experience and brings the community together through a shared experience of discovery, reflecting the city as a global hub of creativity and innovation.
Gaiascope features three kaleidoscopic sculptures embedded with mirrored chambers display evolving fractal visual patterns referencing the rhythm and energy of soccer alongside imagery inspired by San José’s natural landscapes. Interactive pedestals invite viewers to become part of the artwork by changing the colors, light sequences, and speed in real time.
Gaiascope is a temporary public art installation commissioned by the City of San José’s Office of Economic Development and Cultural Affairs.
