International Innovation & Investment Summit: Welcoming the World to San José

Post Date:07/08/2026 8:00 PM

Capturing the momentum and excitement of the World Cup in Silicon Valley, San José’s Office of Economic Development and Cultural Affairs hosted the inaugural International Innovation & Investment Summit: Welcoming the World to San José on Monday, June 29, 2026. The summit drew business leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world, ready for conversations about growth and opportunity.

The day began with a welcome from OEDCA Director Jen Baker at Jay Paul Company’s 200 Park Avenue building and a curated bus tour of development sites around San José. In partnership with The Registry, the tour showcased investment opportunity in both North and South San José and a visit to Federal Realty Investment Trust ’s Santana West. Highlighting both industrial and commercial sites, guests were given insights to present and future development.

The bus tour arrived at Zoom Headquarters in Downtown San Jose, for an afternoon of fireside chats and panels with leaders from business, government, higher education, healthcare, venture capital, and professional sports. The program was designed to build on each conversation, from why San José continues to attract innovators from around the world, to what's next in artificial intelligence, how companies can succeed here, and why quality of place matters to a thriving economy.

Much gratitude to Congressmember Sam Liccardo, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Mayor Matt Mahan, Vice Mayor Pam Foley, Zoom Founder and CEO Eric S. Yuan and San José State President Cynthia Teniente-Matson, for participating in the summit.

We're also grateful to Michelle Zhang and Yudy Deng of 愉园社 Society of Heart's Delight, Heather Bosanac of The Registry, and Terri Batch of Batch Global Strategies for all your collaboration and hard work in helping to bring this event to life.

Finally, a big THANK YOU to all event attendees. We look forward to continuing the conversations, building new partnerships, and welcoming the world’s investment in San José!
