FLASH REPORT #28 - COVID-19 Mitigation and Response

The following is information about the City of San José’s response to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and reduce the number of people infected.

CITY COUNCIL MEETING: Today's San José City Council meeting at 1:30 p.m. will continue as planned in the Wing Rooms at San José City Hall, located at 200 East Santa Clara Street. During item 3.1, Report of the City Manager, Dave Sykes will provide a comprehensive update to the Mayor and City Council about the City’s response to COVID-19 and describe the City’s continuity of operations plans. 

The meeting space will be set up to comply with the County of Santa Clara Order and social distancing requirements. The Mayor, Councilmembers, and City staff may join the meeting via tele- or videoconference. The public is invited to attend in the Council Chambers and Rotunda where the meeting will be live-streamed. Public speaking cards will be made available by staff and brought to the Mayor. The public will use a speakerphone to make public comment.


FOR MEDIA: Limited seating will be available in the Wing Rooms. Overflow seating will be available in the Council Chambers behind the normal press seating area and in the Rotunda.

Those at home can stream the meeting live from the City’s YouTube channel.
