Biography for Toni Taber

San Jose City Clerk

Toni J. Taber was appointed City Clerk in 2013 by the City Council. She has more than 25 years of experience in local government.

Ms. Taber earned the Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation, which recognizes advanced training and professional contributions in the field. She is an active member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), the California Municipal Clerks Association, and the Municipal Management Association of Northern California.

She serves on policy committees for the League of California Cities, a statewide organization that supports and advocates for cities. She has also presented at multiple conferences.

 Ms. Taber earned a Master’s degree in English (Literature) from California State University, Sacramento. She is married and has four children.
