District 3 Special Election Nomination Process

THE NOMINATION PERIOD HAS ENDED.

**Current list of candidates who have applied for interim appointment and/or pulled nomination papers** Updated January 10, 2025

Candidate Statements of Qualifications for ten day review

Appointments are required. To schedule an appointment, call the Office of the City Clerk at (408) 535-1260 or email elections@sanjoseca.gov. A representative may pick up nomination papers for the candidate with the candidate’s written authorization. However, candidates are encouraged to come in personally, so they can receive important election information. Allow at least 30 minutes for the appointment.

Due to the City Hall furlough from December 23-January 1, appointments will not be made on December 24, 25, 26 and January 1. Email elections@sanjoseca.gov to schedule an appointment during the furlough.  Because City Hall is closed, you must be escorted in and out of the building, so we ask that you be on time to any appointments during that time frame.

PLEASE NOTE: the forms below are not the total amount of forms you must pick up.  You MUST come in person or send a representative to get the nomination petition and other paperwork, and you must print and submit hard copies with your nomination petition. The fillable forms are provided for your convenience. Adobe Reader (or a similar application is required to open/edit fillable forms)
