Shivaun Nurre, Independent Police Auditor
Ms. Nurre joined the IPA office in 2006. She has ten years of public sector experience as a Deputy County Counsel for Santa Clara County. Her legal experience spans the areas of civil litigation, employment law, criminal justice and workers compensation. She obtained an undergraduate degree in history from the University of California at Riverside and then worked for several years at the Congressional Research Service within the Library of Congress before obtaining her Juris Doctor from the University of California at Davis.
Erin O'Neill, Assistant Independent Police Auditor
Erin O’Neill joined the IPA in September 2012 and has a passion for public service and public interest law. Erin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Spanish from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, and received a J.D. from the University of the District of Columbia School of Law in Washington, D.C. She spent her summers locally as an intern and research clerk at the Santa Clara County Public Defender’s Office. While in college, Erin studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, and taught English in Buenos Aires, Argentina after graduation. Erin is fluent in English and conversational in Spanish. Most recently, Erin gained extensive experience in Cybercrime Security and Compliance while working for the Legal Department at Yahoo!. In that role, Erin testified on behalf of Yahoo! in criminal matters at the state and federal level.
Telina Barrientos, IPA Senior Analyst
Telina Barrientos joined the office of the IPA in January 2015. Telina earned two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Master’s degree from San José State University. Prior to joining the City of San José IPA office, Telina has worked for over 10 years non-profit sector, advocating for individuals in the juvenile and dependency systems. Her previous employers include the Dependency Advocacy Center, Teen Success, Inc., and Fresh Lifelines for Youth. In partnership with city, county, and community agencies, Telina has led outreach efforts in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, and has developed and implemented programs for high risk youth and families. Born and raised in San José, Telina is passionate about supporting her community.
Vivian Do, IPA Senior Analyst
Ms. Do joined the IPA from the private sector in June 2002 with specialized experience in information technology. Ms. Do enjoys the working environment at the IPA where she can focus her technical skills on computer and technology related needs, including data analysis, database management and desktop publishing. Her skills are an integral part of the process of producing the IPA annual reports. Ms. Do obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from San José State University, California.
Jessica Flores, Office Specialist II
Ms. Flores joined the IPA office in June of 2006. She attended Administrative Assistance classes at West Valley College and uses that training as the front lobby receptionist. She greets visitors, answers questions for complainants, and directs them to appropriate sources. She enters case information on databases, creates and maintains case files, and helps where ever needed.
