Induction Cooktop Checkout Program

Induction cooktop diagramElectric induction cooktops are a safer, more energy-efficient option for everyday stovetop cooking. They are superior to conventional electric and natural gas cooktops. They heat twice as fast, have better temperature control, and improve indoor air quality. Restaurants, celebrity chefs, and cooking shows have already made the switch!

program update

The City of San José’s Induction Cooktop Checkout Program is currently on hold. In the meantime, San José residents who are PG&E customers can still try induction cooking through PG&E’s Induction Cooktop Loaner Program.

PG&E customers can borrow a portable induction cooktop kit for up to two weeks at no cost. Each kit includes an induction cooktop, an induction-ready pan, a magnet, an info sheet, packing materials, and a return shipping label.
