You can track our progress towards meeting Climate Smart goals through key indicators related to Energy, Water, Mobility, Natural and Working Lands, Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHGs) and Jobs. If you’re on a computer, click on one of the indicators in the left navigation bar to start exploring the data. If you’re on a mobile device, start exploring by clicking on the blue bar above that says “JUMP TO SUBPAGE...” and then on one of the indicator names.

This diagram illustrates both the GHG emissions reductions needed to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 and the emissions reductions we could expect if we achieve the strategies in the Climate Smart plan. This provides us with a roadmap for how San José can make significant progress towards its climate targets if fully implemented. (This diagram comes from page 13 of the 2025 Climate Smart San José Update and has been updated to include data from the recently adopted Zero Waste Element [June 2026].)
