Eligibility Criteria

Businesses or commercial properties generating minimal amounts of organic waste are eligible to apply for a De Minimis Waiver exempting them from some or all of their Senate Bill 1383 requirements. Thresholds for minimal organic waste generation are set forth in the California Code of Regulations, tit. 14, section 18984.11, subdivision (a)(1):

Please submit an online application if one of the following applies to your business or commercial property:

• Generates more than 2 cubic yards of solid waste per week and less than 20 gallons of organic waste (food waste, food-soiled paper, and landscaping/plant waste) per week.
• Generates less than 2 cubic yards of solid waste per week and less than 10 gallons of organic waste (food waste, food-soiled paper, and landscaping/plant waste) per week.
