The City of San José is the lead agency for implementing pretreatment and stormwater management programs on behalf of the eight tributary jurisdictions whose sanitary sewer systems discharge to the San José-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility.

• Best Management Practices for Pretreatment Facilities: Schedules of activities, prohibitions of practices, maintenance procedures and other management practices to prevent or reduce the introduction of pollutants to the sanitary sewer system which have been determined by the director to be cost effective for particular industry groups, business types, or specific industrial processes.
• Best Management Practices for Stormwater Management: A large variety of educational materials, available in multiple languages, which inspectors use to educate businesses on pollution prevention and stormwater management.

• Regulatory Reports: San José-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility Annual and Semi-Annual Pretreatment Compliance Reports and other reports that support the Pretreatment Program.
