Stormwater Treatment Measures FAQs
What are stormwater treatment measures?
Stormwater treatment measures (STMs) are natural landscape-based systems that help clean rainwater before it flows into storm drains, creeks, and the Bay. STMs help filter pollutants like oil, metals, pesticides, and litter out of stormwater runoff. Some examples of STMs are bioretention basins, flow-through planter boxes, bioswales, tree well filter, detention ponds, and pervious pavement.
