Single line of service for the following appointment needs

1. Hazardous Materials Permits:
   A fire permit specialist will contact you via email to discuss your submittal, screen share, and assist with information on using SJePlans. They will create the permit folder for you and issue you the initial plan check invoice. Once the fees are paid, you will receive a link to upload your files to SJePlans. 
2. First time users who require additional assistance with navigating the electronic plan review portal, SJePlans:
   A fire permit specialist will contact you via email to discuss your submittal, screen share and assist with information on using SJePlans. Returning users may schedule an appointment if they require additional assistance with SJePlans.
3. Appointments for general Fire development project questions:
   You can book an appointment to speak to a fire permit specialist to discuss your project.

Service Update: If a fire permit specialist creates a permit on your behalf, it will be placed in the pre-screening queue with all other projects submitted online. Projects are processed in the order received. Permits created through an appointment are not prioritized ahead of other submissions.

Express Fire Special Systems Plan Review Appointments

There are now Fire Systems Express Appointments on special days dedicated to express plan review for smaller projects. Visit the Fire Development Express Permit Appointments webpage to schedule these appointments.

• Have your media device, such as a laptop, with you during this appointment to upload files or go to websites, as needed.
• Have payment readily available

• San José Fire Department is no longer accepting paper plans.
