Eri and Her Family: Being Accountable

After finding themselves living on the street, Eri and her two children had the good fortune to find a place to stay at the Evans Lane interim housing community. After getting settled, Eri was able to have her fiancé join them.

The couple had met at a recovery meeting. Living together helped them hold each other accountable, inspired them to keep working toward stability, and lifted up the whole family.

With the assistance of their case manager from PATH, and the resources available at Evans Lane, both adults found long-term employment -- Eri at a restaurant and her fiancé (now husband) at an HVAC company. While there were some very tough times along the way, including a lost pregnancy, the family never lost faith.

They always shared their gratitude for the support they were receiving. After working diligently with their case manager and housing team, the family was able to secure the necessary paperwork to document their income, taxes and other important data. The family soon found permanent housing and PATH was able to provide them with money to cover the security deposit and initial rent. PATH was also able to provide the family with furniture.

The family moved into their apartment on December 23rd. It was a very happy holiday!
