Committees & Working Groups

The GovAI Coalition has seven committees that each focus on a specific part of our mission for responsible AI for the public good. Four of these committees have individual working groups as the committee expands their efforts.

Operations Committee

The Operations Committee oversees the GovAI Coalition's facilitation, communications, and event planning. 

Readiness and Adoption committee

The Readiness and Adoption Committee supports agencies to adopt responsible AI governance and train staff to leverage AI effectively. The committee builds trainings for government and provide 1:1 AI governance support. 

Data Governance Committee

The Data Governance Committee shares best practices for data governance and data sharing. The committee develops governance frameworks for AI integration, and enable interagency data collaboration.

Procurement Committee 

The Procurement Committee shares best practices for data governance and data sharing. The committee develops governance frameworks for AI integration, and enable interagency data collaboration. The Procurement Committee is open to government agencies and civil society only.

Industry Relations Committee 

The Industry Relations Committee promotes and supports engagement with the vendor community. The committee provides opportunities for vendors to document and share their offerings in alignment with Coalition values. The Industry Relations Committee also supports agencies in identifying AI solutions that meet their needs and values. 

Use Cases Committee 

The Use Cases Committee facilitates knowledge-sharing and collaboration among agencies around AI use cases, including data sharing. The committee hosts demonstrations co-presented by public agencies and private sector partners.

Community Engagement Committee 

The Community Engagement Committee develops turnkey resources for agencies to conduct meaningful community engagement around AI systems. The committee establishes a network of academics and civil society practitioners who offer support to agencies seeking to conduct community engagement. The Community Engagement Committee also facilitates engagement events hosted by multiple agencies.
