The Information Technology Department is continuously enhancing, improving, or adding new projects to our portfolio. The table provided showcases the department's upcoming or active projects that will contain a Request for Procurement (RFP) or Request for Information (RFI).

To apply for active RFP or RFI, please visit the Biddingo, the City’s internet-based e-procurement system. Vendors must register in Biddingo to receive bid-related notifications and to respond to City of San José solicitations. While Biddingo does offer optional for-fee services, there is no cost to register for, receive, and respond to City of San José solicitations.

Implementation for Salesforce Customer Relationship Management system Seeking a vendor to perform the system integration and related activities for a Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) system that would utilize the solution to enhance the customer experience, streamline business processes, and consolidate customer information into a single repository, providing a comprehensive view of each customer's interactions and preferences.  Awarded
Object Detection RFI Assess object detection solutions that can visually identify a variety of objects on roadways throughout the City of San José. This innovative technology aims to support City initiatives and services including abandoned vehicles, parking enforcement, potholes, litter, graffiti, and other City initiatives. Closed on 9/15/2025.
Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) System The City of San José (“City”) is soliciting responses from qualified vendors to establish a contract for software and professional services to implement a new software systems environment to address the City’s needs related to an Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) System. Accepting bids until  on Biddingo.
Enterprise Generative AI Chatbot Solution The City of San José (“City”) is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors to provide a secure, enterprise-wide platform built on pretrained transformer technology to deliver an Enterprise Generative AI Chatbot (the “Solution”). October 2025
Hybrid Cloud Solution Establish a new hyper-converged infrastructure model that will refresh on-premises equipment with modernized, efficient equipment, that leverages cloud-based infrastructure for better business continuity/disaster recovery, identify better tools to effectively achieve higher SLAs, and lower costs. January-March 2026
Network Infrastructure Equipment and Services Identify a modernized network infrastructure technology for all wired and wireless equipment refresh initiatives, including centralized management capabilities that address proactive alerting/reporting, highly effective cybersecurity controls and remediation, and automation, orchestration and AI. This procurement will also identify a managed service provider to provide full or partial network management, professional implementation services, and consultant services for initiatives which require specific wired or wireless network related expertise. January-March 2026
 Object Detection RFP The City of San José (“City”) will be soliciting responses from qualified vendors of object detection solutions that can visually identify a variety of objects on roadways across the city. This innovative technology aims to detect issues including abandoned vehicles, parking enforcement, potholes, litter, graffiti, and community hurting signs of urban blight, among other initiatives. 2026
Public WiFi The City of San José will be seeking solutions for Community Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi at Community Centers and Library branches for technology refreshes and hardware.
This RFP will be released in two parts:
1. RFP for consultant to provide SOW
2. RFP for Wi-Fi services and hardware

Business Tax System The City of San José will be soliciting a Business Tax System to deliver a full end-to-end replacement of the existing platform, modernizing both the frontend and backend to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.  2026
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Modernization
Phase 1: Seek a qualified firm with proven experience assessing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) needs and requirements to develop a Request for Procurement to replace some or all of the applications that make up the City of San José’s existing ERP systems landscape.
 
Phase 2: Seek an implementation firm to execute the project to replace some or all of the City’s applications that make up the City of San José’s Enterprise Resource Planning systems landscape.
