Born and raised in San Jose, Anthony’s passion for community service led him to Portland State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and fell in love with Portland’s seamless transportation system. After serving as a Field Representative for Congressman Earl Blumenauer during the pandemic, Anthony returned home to join the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition. At SVBC, he advocated for safer streets in Silicon Valley, focusing on transforming El Camino Real into a complete street that accommodates people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

In the District 2 office, he leads community initiatives, adaptive neighborhood solutions, and policy issues related to transportation, public safety, education and workforce development. In his spare time, Anthony is riding around San Jose on his e-bike and enjoying live music.

Mario Sanguinet Headshot

Mario Sanguinet serves as the Communications Manager for Councilmember Pamela Campos—the youngest woman ever elected to the San José City Council. Before this he worked in the Office of the San Diego City Council President and in the Economic Development Department at the City of Chula Vista.

Outside of his government work he has written about arts and culture and lectured at the college level on how to give presentations and make friends. Naturally, Mario has all the friends and talks goodly. Mario graduated with a master’s and cum laude with a bachelor’s in communication from San Diego State University. He was also the first in his family to attend and graduate from college and work a white-collar job. He was born and raised on both sides of the San Diego-Tijuana border. He regrets not getting Global Entry sooner.
