How the City is Increasing Community Safety

San José is known as one of the safest major cities in the country with low crime rates and strong public safety services. As of June 2025, more than 80% of residents said they feel safe in their neighborhoods, up 9% from 2023. Read more below about how the City is focused on keeping this progress going.
