This free event will feature a wide range of opportunities in employment, education, and recreation ensuring everyone has access to resources and activities that promote empowerment and inclusion.

In honor of October being recognized as National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), this event will also include a job fair and employment resources in alignment with this year's theme of "Celebrating Value and Talent."

Event Includes:

  • Resource vendors in the employment, recreation, and education sectors
  • Job fair & employment resources
  • Resume workshop with both resume basics and resume critique workshops
  • Access to quiet spaces with sensory activities during the event

Job Fair Attendants, to prepare for the job fair:

  • Do your Research – Please take the time to research the organizations that will be present at the event. Check the career/jobs pages on participating employer web sites (provided below) to explore what the offered positions may be for the organizations you are interested in, and other information like requirements, desired skills and expectations for the job roles you are looking for.
  • Bring Resume – Though many employers prefer/require that applications get processed through their employment webpages, it is recommended to bring copies of your resume.  In addition, consider bringing targeted resumes that highlight your work and educational history, skills and experience relevant to a specific role of interest that you have discovered through your research.
  • Dress Professionally – Recommended attire: business casual
  • Prepare an “Elevator Speech,” or a quick way to introduce yourself, your career objective and how you can meet the requirements for the job. In addition, practice your pitch – this will allow you to be fully prepared for what you will say with prospective employers. Practice how you will introduce yourself and make a lasting impression under 60 seconds.
  • Other things to bring – Consider bringing business cards to leave with job fair participants, or paper and pen to jot down information after speaking with prospective employers.
