Experience: At least 12 months working in a summer camp or comparable recreational program.

Camp Cook (Seasonal)
Location: On-site position at Family Camp Yosemite, Groveland, CA
Seasonal schedule:
- Regular season operates May through August this position will work 40 hours a week during this time.
- The shoulder season (April- May & August to October) schedule will be based on operation needs and private group rentals.
- Oversee food service operations at a 51-acre all-inclusive camp near Yosemite National Park.
- Train, assign, and supervise seasonal kitchen support staff and volunteers.
- Plan and develop seasonal food and beverage menus that accommodate diverse dietary needs.
- Manage inventory, ordering, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
- Ensure kitchen and dining areas meet County Health Department food safety standards.
- Prepare meals for guests and staff (up to 300 people per day) with professionalism and quality presentation.
- Assist with catering for special events, private group rentals, and evaluating food service trends.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED or California Proficiency Certificate)
Experience: One (1) year of experience in cooking and delivering food services for large groups.
Licenses or Certificates
- ServSafe certification is desired, and training can be provided upon hire for
certification.

Maintenance Assistant (Seasonal)
Location: On-site position at Family Camp Yosemite, Groveland, CA
Seasonal schedule: May through October
Overview
- Perform entry-level building, grounds, and park maintenance tasks
- Use and care for common hand tools used in maintenance work
- Assist with landscape maintenance, irrigation systems, and pest control applications
- Perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more
Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (GED or California Proficiency Certificate)
Licenses or Certificates
- Valid CA Driver’s License
- Valid California Class A or B driver’s license with applicable endorsements
- Valid California Certified Commercial Applicator’s License

Recreation Specialist
Location: On-site position at Family Camp Yosemite, Groveland, CA (May–October) with housing and meals included during peak season.Overview
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the Family Camp Experience program for underserved San José residents.
- Recruit, supervise, train, and evaluate part-time camp staff.
Prepare instructional materials, secure supplies, and coordinate vendors for trips and activities. - Collaborate with residents, community groups, and agencies to meet participant needs.
- Track and manage grant-related expenses and staff hours for reimbursement.
- Handle guest relations, mediating and resolving concerns or complaints.
- Improve guest experience through staff training, program development, and park upkeep.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Leisure Services, or related field and 1 year (2080 hours) of full-time recreation leadership or programming experience.
- Substitution: Up to 2 additional years of recreation leadership/programming experience may replace the degree requirement (does not substitute for the 1 year of experience).
- Valid First Aid certificate (must be maintained).
- Valid CPR certificate (must be maintained).
Camp Counselor
Entry level to leadership positions for Recreation, Hospitality, and Maintenance Departments.
Overview- Leads and monitors all stipend staff and daily camp operations across recreation, guest services, aquatics, dining, store, office, and private group rentals.
- Creates and distributes weekly staff schedules and leads weekly Activities meetings.
- Provides on-site support to the Camp Manager, Senior Maintenance Worker, and Recreation Program Specialist.
- Supervises Recreation Camp Staff Leads and their teams.
Experience: At least 12 months working in a summer camp or comparable recreational program.
Education: None required.
