GOALS
Community Engagement and Feedback Collection:
- Develop an annual workplan to gather community input on Emma Prusch Farm Park.
- Establish regular channels—such as surveys, focus groups, and public gatherings—to collect input from park visitors and community partners, ensuring recreational opportunities are accessible, inclusive, and aligned with community needs to enrich the visitor experience.
- Develop an annual report to share community feedback findings with park staff, stakeholders, Parks and Recreation Commissioners, and City Council members.
Community Awareness and Outreach:
- Develop a communication plan to promote events, programs, and volunteer opportunities at the park, ensuring the community is well-informed and engaged.
- Collaborate with local schools, community centers, and social groups to raise awareness of the park’s offerings and inspire active community participation to boost attendance.
Agricultural Heritage and Education:
- Identify and engage with local agricultural experts and organizations to gather ideas for programs that celebrate and educate the community on farming and sustainable practices, appealing to diverse interests and age groups.
- Enhance educational opportunities for staff in areas such as agriculture, urban farming, and environmental stewardship to build a deeper understanding and appreciation that can be shared with visitors of all ages.
Sustainable Program Development:
- Collaborate with park staff and local organizations to assess program sustainability, researching available resources and prioritizing long-term impact.
- Regularly review program success —such as analyzing attendance and reviewing survey feedback—and recommend adjustments based on community input to ensure offerings stay relevant, engaging, and responsive to evolving needs.

Passion for Community Engagement and Public Service
- A demonstrated interest in community building, public service, or enhancing public spaces.
- A commitment to Emma Prusch Farm Park's mission of connecting people with agriculture, recreation, and education in a public park setting.
- An active listener who maintains open channels for community feedback, gathering input from diverse groups such as park visitors, neighborhood associations, school groups, local residents, and other key stakeholders.
- Willingness to attend community events, engage in public outreach, and advocate for the needs and preferences of the community.
- Ability to attend quarterly meetings, participate in subcommittees, and contribute to discussions and planning.
- Availability to volunteer at park events, outreach activities, or workshops, ideally with a commitment of a certain number of hours per quarter.
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with other advisory committee members, park staff, and volunteers.
- A collaborative spirit, as the committee will make decisions together to best support the park and its community goals.
- Experience or skills in fields like community outreach, public relations, education, program planning, fundraising, or environmental science/agriculture is a plus but not required.
- Comfort using personal social media, community surveys, or other tools for community engagement is beneficial.
- Preference for individuals who live or work in the area or have a strong affiliation with the Emma Prusch Farm Park community.
