Viva CalleSJ is a free program that temporarily closes miles of San Jose streets to bring communities together to walk, bike, skate, play, and explore the city like never before.

Choose your own quest as you bike, skate, walk, or roll from Mexican Heritage Plaza to Alum Rock Village or from Cimarron Park to Fernish Park, there are plenty of side quests to explore along this adventurous route.

Viva Parks ^

Viva Parks is a series of free events focused on health and wellness resources, physical activity, and community engagement. We do this by connecting people to people, uniting neighbors, visually transforming the park with positive programming, increasing usage, and providing community resources to the neighborhood.

The City of San José Department of Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services Placemaking Program hosts a Painting in the Park series throughout the year. Paint the CitySJ offers a painting class in the park led by our in-house art instructor for the community. Register in advance via our Eventbrite page.
