At Camp San José, campers will participate in an unforgettable summer day camp experience combining summer camp traditions with enrichment and educational activities. Campers play crazy fun games, sports, create cool arts and crafts projects, sing funny songs, and embark on a weekly field trip. Activities incorporate educational features disguised in fun and entertaining activities and projects. Price includes a low leader to child ratio of 1:10, field trips, a Camp San José shirt, skill building, new friendships, disguised learning and much more! 

Families opting not to participate in field trips are responsible for finding alternative care for their child(ren) not attending the trip. The City will not provide a prorated refund for those that elect not to participate, nor will onsite care be available.

Campers need to bring water, lunch* and sunscreen each day. *Check with your local community center for a complete list of field trips, lunch programs, scholarships, and payment plans. Each Camp San José session runs for one (1) week.

2025 - 2026 Break Camp Information

During the school year, Camp San José may be offered at community center locations to Fall break, Thanksgiving break, December holiday breaks, February break, and Spring break.

Program Information

Camp San José is available at multiple locations throughout San José and runs weekly camps Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. for youth ages 5 –12. There is no camp on two City holidays: Juneteenth and Fourth of July.

Summer 2026 Registration Information

Priority Registration for scholarship-eligible families begins in person at participating Community Centers January 28, 2026 at 10 a.m. General registration opens in person and online at SJRegistration.com on February 7, 2026 at 10 a.m.

Payment Options

Prices and locations will be made available on SJRegistration.com on January 12, 2026.

Flexible payment plan options are available. Scholarship-eligible families can reserve a spot for $25 per week of camp, and non-scholarship families can reserve a spot for $50 per week per camp. Final payment is due three weeks before the first day of camp.

Scholarship Information 

Scholarships are awarded as funding is available. Submit a completed scholarship application to any Community Center. Completion of the scholarship application does not guarantee approval of a scholarship. Learn more at the Citywide Scholarship Program Webpage

Summer Food Service Program

Over the summer months, all eligible children will have free meals available through the City of San José’s participation in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Meals will be available at the following locations this summer at no cost to community youth ages 5 to 16 who are enrolled in Camp San José, F.I.T. Camp, and Teen Centers.
