Remote Procedures for Permits, Plan Review, Inspections, and Code Enforcement During COVID-19

In response to Santa Clara County's Public Health mandatory order issued March 16, City Hall, the Permit Center, and Development Services Offices are closed to public visitation until further notice. Our staff will continue many of our services, working remotely as needed.

There may be an overall reduction in service levels. Thank you for your patience as we work together to address this unprecedented threat.

Staff are handling development review, plan review, and permit issuance electronically and teleconferencing with customers if needed.

As allowed by the County Order, on-site building inspections will continue on Housing Construction projects. Inspectors use safety gear and practice social distancing as feasible. For single-family housing inspections, inspectors may use video conferencing. For commercial projects, at this time only safety inspections to secure the buildings are allowed.

Code Enforcement Inspectors are only responding to emergency service requests. Inspections relating to general complaints and the Multi-Housing Program are suspended until further notice.

Development Services will be conducted as follows until April 7, 2020 or until further notice. This page is updated as needed.
