Bridge Housing Communities

Public projects to create Bridge Housing Communities (BHC) in various locations in the City to house the homeless population during transition to permanent housing. The BHC include sleeping cabins with power and modular community buildings which would have kitchen facilities and restrooms and showers as well as supportive services. Water, sewer, power, and gas would be provided for the community buildings.

The Negative Declaration and supporting Initial Study for Bridge Housing Communities was circulated for public comment from November 9, 2018 to December 8, 2018.
An Addendum to the Negative Declaration for the Lot E Site and the supporting Initial Study was posted on this website on September 7, 2021. This Addendum was not circulated because the Initial Study did not identify any new impacts of the project on the environment.
An Addendum to the Negative Declaration for the Guadalupe Emergency Interim Housing (EIH) Site has been posted on this site (October 18, 2022). This Addendum will be considered by the City Council on November 1, 2022.

PROJECT STATUS
The Bridge Housing Communities Negative Declaration was adopted (Resolution #78926) and the project was approved by the City Council on December 18, 2018.
