You can help both homeless animals and your community by having your pets fixed. Each year in Silicon Valley thousands of puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats are put to death because there are not enough homes for them all. The City of San José offers a low-cost spay/neuter clinic at the San José Animal Care Center located at 2750 Monterey Road.
For a limited time we are partnering with HSSV to offer free Dog spay/neuter for residents of zip codes 95111, 95112, 95116, 95122 and 95127 *(see our low-cost s/n clinic link)
Every puppy or kitten born means one less home available for orphaned shelter animals. Besides saving lives there are many other positive reasons to spay or neuter your pet. Spaying and/or neutering your pet can do the following:
- Eliminates the urge to roam. You pet will be calmer and more content.
- Reduces spraying, mounting, fighting, barking, pacing, marking, and biting.
- Altered animals have twice the average life expectancy of unaltered ones.
- Spaying and neutering reduces pet risks of reproductive cancers.
