The City of San José, Office of the City Attorney is seeking transactional attorneys with experience in contracting and regulatory compliance. Public sector experience is preferred but not required. Experience in public utility and administrative hearings is highly desirable.
This position will play an important role in providing advice and transactional services to the Mayor and City Council, City Manager, administrative departments, and boards and commissions, while also assisting with the implementation of major public and private projects.
Admission to the California State Bar is required for this position. A candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience and good academic background. The successful candidate will possess excellent research, negotiation, and analytical abilities, along with superior writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
