The Highway 237 Bikeway is located in north San José, adjacent to the highway, and links Milpitas and Sunnyvale.
The bikeway is directly along the highway. Its proximity to the highway makes it a commuter-serving trail. The bikeway is an off-street facility between Sunnyvale and Milpitas, except for an on-street bikeway between North First Street and Zanker Road.
The Lower Guadalupe River Trail can be accessed directly from the bikeway. Travel westbound to the Sunnyvale section of the Bay Trail occurs via the Gold Street connector (off-street path along roadway).
There are no studies or master plans for this trail system as the bikeway was initially developed by Caltrans as a mitigation improvement for loss of off-street pedestrian and bike facilities.
The Highway 237 Bikeway is designated as part of the National Recreation Trail.
