MULTIPLE HOUSING INSPECTION PROGRAM
The Multiple Housing Program provides three levels of service; inspections will be conducted on a 3, 5 or 6 year cycle depending upon the Service Level Tier assignment listed on the Multiple Housing Roster. Learn more about the program in the Multiple Housing Inspection Program FAQs.
OWNER RELOCATION OBLIGATIONS
The San Jose Municipal Code specifies the circumstances under which owners are obligated to relocate tenants due to substandard housing conditions after the City issues a notice of violation.

Owners and Managers: Prepare for the next inspectionGet your property ready. Review the list of common violations and do your own assessment of any needed clean up, repairs or permit issues. The Preparing for Inspection page provides a checklist. A track record of taking care of issues prior to the inspection results in less frequent Code Enforcement inspections and a lower Residential Occupancy Permit fee since the program is fee-for-service.
Annual Invoice is due December.
Most owners renew annual Residential Occupancy Permits on time.
